Seven governors have been selected
to meet with President Muhammadu
Buhari in London on Wednesday, July
26.
The Punch reports that the governors
will depart the country on Tuesday,
July 25 and will meet with Buhari by
3pm on Wednesday.

This was confirmed by Garba Shehu
who is the senior special adviser to
president Buhari on media and
publicity.
Abdulaziz Yari who is the governor of
Zamfara state and the chairman of
the Nigeria Governors’ Forum will
lead the delegation that will meet
with the president.
The six other governors were
selected to represent the geo-
political zones of the country.
They are:
1. Dave Umahi (Ebonyi)
2. Umar Ganduje (Kano)
3. Kashim Shettima (Borno)
4. Samuel Ortom (Benue)
5. Udom Emmanuel (Akwa Ibom)
6. Abiola Ajimobi (Oyo)
Shehu was asked why Governor
Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti was not
selected as one of the governros to
meet with the president and he
revealed that the selection was done
by the NGF and not the federal
government.

He said: “The visit is a goodwill visit
and there is nothing more than that.
“They will leave tonight, arrive
tomorrow and meet President Buhari
by 3pm tomorrow.”
Asked why President Buhari had not
addressed the nation but chose to
receive delegates, he said: “It is a
question of what he prefers and if he
opts for address option, he will do so.”
NAIJ.com had reported that the
scheduled visit came as a surprise to
a governor who is not among those
travelling to see Buhari.
The governor who did not want his
name mentioned stated that those
chosen for the journey were picked
outside what he described as the NGF
He however noted that had the
secretariat and the governors been
contacted, the governors would have
picked at least one of the PDP
governors that had been critical of
the Buhari.
